Mantra Meditation

Here are some of my go-to mantras for meditation. I find my way to them again and again because the meaning resonates with me and because they offer enough of a challenge to keep me from going on auto-pilot during my meditation. For now, here are the words. Video and audio coming soon!

Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha

This mantra is chanted in honor of Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Some say that Ganesha sometimes places obstacles in our path as part of our experience of growth and learning. We can learn to navigate around them, or perhaps see them as gifts with lessons to teach us. As you chant to Ganesha, perhaps you can connect with that part within you that is the remover of your own obstacles. May this mantra help you to see that you have the power within you to remove (or explore) obstacles as you find your way along your path.

Sat Nam

Truth is my identity

Sometimes a simple chant that can remind you of your essence and truth is what a moment calls for. Use this chant when you are seeking simplicity and the clarity to honor the truth within.

Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu

May all beings be happy and free and may my thoughts, words, and actions in some small way contribute to that happiness and freedom for all

This mantra helps remind me of two things. The first is the importance and power of my thoughts, words, and actions on the world around me. In troubling times, it can be an important practice to remind ourselves that we are capable of making a difference in the world, even if it seems small.

The second thing I often focus on when chanting this mantra is that the thoughts, words, and actions of others may contribute to my happiness and freedom. Again, there is beauty in recognizing our interconnectedness with the world and especially in times when we feel hopeless and alone, this mantra can help to lift our spirit.

I could go on for hours about my experience with this lovely shop. I was able to give input through the whole design process from color to bead design. After completion, I received in the mail within a couple of days. I would definitely purchase from Sacred Becoming again!

“There is a simplicity, beauty, groundedness and peace in Xandra’s malas. They are clearly made with conscious care and love, from the high quality elements to the thoughtful arrangement. I have several and each day pick which ones will adorn my body and soothe my spirit. As someone with sensory needs, I find them calming to touch throughout the day. Xandra’s malas go far beyond jewelry and allow me to invite a sense of the sacred in my every day. What a gift!” – Sheila Pai
