“So basic to the soul of each one of us, love becomes the precious essence governing each of our lives.” – Anodea Judith

Strip away everything, and the heart remains.

The pain, the ecstasy, every emotion in between, experienced because of the indispensable love that burns eternal at the core.

A love that shines so bright that even when dimmed, it holds on, it holds me up, it gives me the power to trust and believe even in the darkest of nights.

I am a valley created by mountains and one by one they begin to crumble, crashing down on me.

And still I breathe. And still my heart beats. And still the love burns bright.
In the moment that the first mountain fell, we looked at each other and found love. Our hearts guided us when our minds could not comprehend.

Strip away everything, and the heart remains.

In the moment that the second mountain fell, she radiated love and filled us up, held our grief even from a place beyond.

Strip away everything, and the heart remains.

In the moment that the third mountain fell, love comforted and gave peace, bridging the generations fading and yet to come.

Strip away everything, and the heart remains.

In the moment that the fourth mountain fell, I fell with it.

The tears came flowing out, creating rivers amidst these crumbled mountains, finding their way into the tiny crevasses as they wove the mountains together into new terrain.

And still I breathe. And still my heart beats. And still the love burns bright.

Strip away everything, and the heart remains.
